1 game maximum is my guess, if anything.

Opinion differs among "experts", for my part, I would like to see Kunitz suspended for the season because, he has nothing left, and I want him off of our roster.

But, I digress, NHL Network guys, Stevens and Grimson, felt that the 5 plus Game was enough, as, they felt it was a "hockey play" where the awkward positioning of the elbow was due the position of the puck, rather than any attempt to even make contact with Hamonic. Others have reported that some Canadian commentators, would like to see a suspension.

Myself, I saw it as an unfortunate accident, much in the way of being injured by getting hit with a puck, or a freak injury on a legal hit. Not to say that this was a legal hit, but, it seemed to be punished appropriately by the on-ice guys, and supplementary discipline for an accident seems counter-intuitive, accidents DO occur, and the precedent then, would be to demand a suspension for EVERY stick foul that causes injury, even unintentional ones, and that would be impractical and, generally, unfair.

Hamonic, like many hockey players, sucked it up and continued, to his credit, and I hope that there are no lingering issues from this unfortunate incident.
