The Flames played a little looser in the 3rd period. You cannot blame them for that since they were up by 7. However, in general, my very favourite thing about this game was not the beautiful goals or another solid goaltending performance from Rittich. It was that the Flames more or less played the way they have been playing since Pittsburgh and, as one poster put it, just had a ton of mojo because of the win over the Oilers. They seemed to pass and shoot perfectly in this game, but in the 1st and 2nd periods, the Flames just played the system to a T. Despite the massive score effects (admittedly potentially mitigated by white flag effects), they still out-possessed the puck and out-shot Vegas. It's just so fantastic to see a team so obviously buying into what the coach is selling.
