This is going to boil down to asset management. And I think the likely player in the asset management scenario is Brodie vs. Kylington starting this off season.
TJ has one year left at 4.65m after this year. Kylington can step in and cost you 730k next season. In a year where cap navigation is going to be a challenge. And, is an RFA at the end of it unlike Brodie who will be UFA.
Honestly, I think this is what happens and this is where the Flames make their move for a goalie to run with Rittich. Because at bare minimum right now, I think we can all say Rittich is an NHL goalie. Ceiling is TBD.
