To be fair, I have heard something similar - trade Matthews - from a few Laff fans recently. They seem to be focused on getting a top end #1 d-man (doughty?) plus, plus, plus. This would also possibly get them out of cap hell. They are concerned with his injury history.

If Matthews waits until Jul. 1 and goes RFA, would you drop 4 1st rounders on him at $12 for 7 yrs? I think a number of teams (PHX at the top of the list) would.
