I think Peters/Treliving really want Smith to work because there's really not a lot of upgrade options mid-season and once they go to Rittich is may be permanent. Seeing it's only November they probably are going to give Smith as much rope as possible as long as they hold a playoff spot. If they slide out of the playoffs I would expect desperation to sit in and the kid gloves to be thrown in the trash.
