They are using scanners to count the ballots, that would explain why the results will come in all at once. Once the last ballot is scanned they'll have the count, no need to count and report by each polling site. Personally I'm not a fan of electronic voting or counting but at least they have the hard copies to go back to if needed.
One thing that is ridiculous is that they have you fill out a form before getting a ballot and then the ballot itself is another full size sheet of paper. That's 2 full size sheets for every voter. I'm guessing they did this to be compatible with the scanner but it seems like a massive waste of paper.
