And in all honesty, this is one of the ways that the voters have been given a terrible false equivalency for this plebiscite. The choice is not "do you want the Olympics or a perfect budget going forward?" That's kind of how it's positioned, and it's just a red herring. The "no" side has acted as though we have this cash sitting there and it can either be spent on the Olympics or solving all of our upcoming fiscal woes. The truth is that the money isn't coming from the IOC/feds/province if we say no...there's no option of spending it elsewhere.
