Nylander did very well on the Leafs last year taking faceoffs, Toronto had better depth at centre than Calgary.
Lots of interchangeable parts to the roster, Nylander can easily switch up with Lindholm in the line-up.
BTW: 8 game winners for Nylander last year, a very "lucky" player.

The Flames have $2M in Cap space now. Bennett makes 2, Stone makes 4.6. Nylander wants 8, and if you trade for him he's got all the bargaining power. But let's pretend you give him 7 (and pay him more than anyone else on this team). Maybe you can fit him under the cap as long as you don't have to eat salary trading Smith, or trade for a goalie making more.
Next year you lose Smith's $4.25. But Rittich will hopefully be due a raise, and Tkachuk will want a lot. Plus you need another goalie.
