For me they work pretty well with flat pedals, and they are roomy enough to allow for a medium weight sock. I use race face Chester pedals which are composite, so perhaps are slightly warmer that metal pedals.

Lastbyera I considered buying a pair of Louis garnering boots, but the fit was narrow at the ankle, they were hard to get on, but super comfy when on.
