And it is desperation. The Yes side has all of the actual internal polling. If they were ahead, they wouldn't risk overdoing it and swinging votes the other way just by annoying people (which their recent push has done, of course). They are behind and trying to catch up.

Announcing an arena deal after the bid is approved means the arena deal is going to be worse than the city's previous offers (from the taxpayer perspective). The CSEC will demand (and receive) more public money than before. Given that support for previous deals was low, an even worse deal isn't going to go over very well. Smarter to tie it into the Olympics so you can at least dress up the hit better.

Nenshis comments mean nothing. You have other no voters on this board who were telling you that Nenshis comments mean nothing. A common strategy to get people out to vote.

Are you referring to a poll which after removing bot votes, was 42% strongly against (not the 60's you claim) and 21% strongly for? (as per CBCs website) ?

Much talk from these town hall meetings has been people looking for more information. It is the undecided vote which we do not know as a percentage to the entire vote so another point that tells us nothing. The yes people are at rallys and events. The no side has made their voice heard. The undecided are becoming more informed and at townhall events.

Now you go on to claim that because they have the polls and are not marketing them the way you would market them, they must be behind and desperate? Thats a desperate attempt to make them look desperate.

Your comments about the arena also hold no facts and is all opinion based. The money set aside to renovate the saddledome and money for a new 6,000 person arena comes very close to what CSSC asked for in the first place. As a posted mentioned after my post, it should come as no surprise that a deal is in place in terms of basics and if the yes goes ahead, they have to hammer out some more details.
