I honestly don't see there being a solution in the short term. and if that is truly the case then it's the goalie coach who needs to go. if for no other reason than to shake things up and see if someone else can help smith. Clearly sigalet can't get him to play better, and you can't trade him for anyone significant so you have one clear option...
