Intangibles are important. How do you do anything without looking at the entire picture?
If all people wanted to see was a simplified Income Statement what would this community look like?
I guess we'd abandon the idea of public schools, or Stampede Breakfasts, or New Years' Eve and Canada Day celebrations, community centres, rec hockey rinks, libraries, street festivals etc etc etc.
Not everything boils down to one black number on the bottom of the page.
Personally I like living in a community that invests in health and wellness, where the people interact with each other, are educated and engaged and enjoy themselves.
