Now that they are a playoff Calibre roster is the time to move picks.
Unfortunately, they arguably still need those picks to help push the roster over the edge by getting a dube/valimaki/Andersson in the next year or two while already a contender.

It's only November 5th and the Oilers and Canucks current standings could also invoke illusions of playoff calibre. Even with a better goaltender it's going to be tough to win consistently giving up the high grade scoring chances the Flames do. I would like to see team defense improve before getting too far ahead of ourselves with where this team currently is. In addition to Bobrovsky, guys like Varlamov and Talbot are also scheduled to be UFA so there may be some options that don't require assets going the other way. As well there could be other teams highly interested in him that may drive the price up very high. It's really hard to speculate from where we are just what Treliving has for realistic options at this point.
