It's fine to be a "fuse" but the fact is, I can think of so many plays where Bennett could get a decent shot on net, but he overthinks it and either gives the puck away or creates time for the other team to over whelm him and strip the puck away from him. Two games ago they showed highlights of Neal being open but neither Jankowski nor Bennett even saw him. I don't think Bennett has adjusted to the speed of the NHL, nor does he really anticipate plays well enough. This league isn't about giving ice time away based on pity, and that's why you see him with Frolik and Ryan once Peters starts shaking the lines.
As for Neal, #1 when he was paired with Bennett and Jankowski tonight, I don't think he was trying hard enough, once he was put on the Tkachuk Backlund line, his pace increased - but he continued to kind of give up on fore-checking on a few plays, he for sure wasn't fulfilling his forechecking assignment on a few plays and just seemed lackadaisical
