Its becoming increasingly difficult to know what the
facts are though.
The lack of transparency, the 11th hour changes/fudging of numbers, al of it clouds what's real and what isn't. It takes a lot of critical thinking to get to that point and i don't believe there is enough time nor information for that to occur. Hence, this is being rammed through regardless of plebiscite votes (unless its a landslide no) IMO.
The funny thing is that when this was first being contemplated, i was quite excited at the prospect of experiencing another games in my own back yard.
I said this before and i will say it again, 1988 was an absolute blast. It changed the way the city felt about itself, it opened up doors that had never existed prior, and it truly did put Calgary on the map...so to say. This, is not accomplishing any of that however,
What has occurred along the way and the lack of what these games should be providing is what has me completely turned off by it.
