I still think “Yes” votes are going to surprise a lot of people with how high they end up being. We’re in an age where people vote for a whole lot of things that are against their best interest *cough*Trump*cough* because it’s shiny thing that appeals to their emotions.
Not that I think the Yes vote will win, but I’m not confident in that position at all. I don’t think we have half an idea of how this is going to shake out in two weeks.

But there's nothing shiny in this thing. At all. The fact all the noise and desperation is coming from the Yes side pretty much says it all. And as always with politics, if you're explaining, you're losing. And the Yes side is still explaining two weeks out. The last week sealed the deal I think, even if people wanted to deceive themselves that this can work financially, council, the province and the feds have shown trusting them to get this right is not happening.
But we'll see. And speaking of Trump and spite voting, you have to remember that voting to kill the Olympics spites Nenshi....Notley....and Trudeau. Do you know how many people in this city hate all three of those people? The spite vote is gonna be large no doubt.
