On Dube, IMO playing third line minutes in the NHL while being around the team and practicing with NHL players is better than first line AHL minutes.
Practices get overlooked a lot but to me that’s a huge part of it. Even if he gets less time in the games the experience he will gain from practice alone is more than enough to negate the minute differential.
I also think he’s been good, just needs to work on finishing on NHL goalies, which he won’t be able to learn in the AHL.
