Now, you might claim that they were fortunate in catching teams that may have upset some better teams, but the Flames that year were much better in the 2nf half than the first (after Kipper started playing for them). it really wasn't a shock that team went quite far in the playoffs.

We finished with 94 points. Canucks has 101, Wings had 109 (won presidents trophy) and Sharks had 104. We beat the top 3 seeds in the West. Until the Kings won from the 8th seed the 04 team accomplished an unprecedented run of knocking off top teams.
