Now, you might claim that they were fortunate in catching teams that may have upset some better teams, but the Flames that year were much better in the 2nf half than the first (after Kipper started playing for them). it really wasn't a shock that team went quite far in the playoffs.
I'm confused: They had 94 points. Vancouver, Detroit and San Jose all had more.
