Man I wouldn't call it laughable. It's sad actually.
Social media sucks in these young women and their life revolves around likes. This is an extreme example, but it's not rare for girls around the world to live for likes. There is so much fake-ness out there, and I think young impressionable girls think they have to be perfect in order to be accepted.
