I do wonder if there could be a deal built around those two. Calgary can offer:
Top-4 defenceman (Brodie)
Veteran depth forward (Frolik)
Quality goalie depth (Gillies)
Toronto is in an interesting spot. They're rich beyond belief up front, while also having huge problems defensively and could possibly use some solid veteran depth to help them fill in spots when injuries arise.
I think there is some potential there for at least the basis of a deal.

Funny but listening to Warrener this morning they don't think Brodie is anything but a third pairing guy, which I agree with (but that is my opinion). They said he is soft, terrible defensively and his passing is weak.
If the new coach, Peters, who watched a ton of film and stated he was going to reunite Brodano thinks he doesn't deserve to play up the line up then maybe the issue isn't all the "####ty" partners he has had to "Carry" but the fact that Brodie screws them all up by playing a terrible version of rover. Warrener even speculated that when Hamonic is back that Brodie may be a healthy scratch.
