Hoeneß, Rummenigge and Salihamidzic called a press conference today where they pretty much ranted an hour about their treatment by the media, calling the criticism of their performances "derisive" and "disrespectful". Hoeneß also stressed the importance of "dignity".
The double standards are remarkable of course. Not only is it fascinating to see convicted criminals like them talking about values, but also Hoeneß - just moments after asking for "dignity" of players - ripped Juan Bernat to shreds. And then there was the most fascinating quote of the day, when Hoeneß was asked about his comments regarding Özil ("he has played like filth for years"): "I should have said crap, not filth".
