You are correct.

Betts has his glove well past the vertical plane of the wall and I think the ball was past the plane as well.

I'm of the opinion that the fans weren't reaching past that vertical plane. The ball was past the plane and so was Betts so they didn't interfere with the play.

I think it was a terrible, terrible call. I'm legitimately dismayed that people care at all about the fan, he did absolutely nothing wrong. They should be pissed at worst umpire in MLB Joe West and the morons in NY who let that call stand. Total BS.
