Here Clarkson is a legend and when Hamster got injured it was all over the papers for about a week. I am so glad that this show travels overseas because it is so brilliant and i watch it religiously every sunday when its on. On a side note, can you get Top Gear on DVD over there? Cannot wait for the new series, was meant to start a month back before the 'mishap' occured. The jokes are going to be great because you know Clarkson won't let Hammond forget his crash. I love it when the have those races around the country/Europe.
I would say the show has a cult following amongst gear heads in North America - even here in Japan the news made the papers.

Certainly the cult of racing is nowhere near as popular in Canada as in England, but most of the guys I know who are car fans follow Top Gear.
