The rear camera shows he makes contact with the head, the problem is that Johnny’s head moves “just prior to or simultaneously with contact” as he is spinning that way.
McAvoy doesn’t “turn to line up an elbow”
..... he turns to get inside body position and drive Gaudreau AWAY from the net, like any defenseman should. As he is doing this Johnny spins and boom. Shoulder to head direct contact. Incidental, but contact was made. I hope he’s okay, but in no way is this a play that even deserves a phone call.
