It was difficult to part with Pesce, who at 22 has his entire career ahead of him. A steep price to pay, but the hope is that Quick provides stability in net after years of Luongo. Reimer was effective, but my window to win is starting to close and I didn't want regret not having a number 1 goalie.
Hamonic is a downgrade on defense, but with a manageable salary I'm optimistic that he can regain the top pairing form in Calgary with Hanifin. I've also never had a 'real-life Flame' on my roster before, so I'm now even more invested in his success.
Thanks to Devo for the fun talks. There was a little bit of back and forth, which I enjoy, as I suspect both of us were hesitant to give up players for guys we covet.
If the Hawks tank as a result of this trade consider us open for business and open to larger trades in the future!
