Interesting thing is despite the last minute heroics, Rodgers is having a subpar year. I'm sure the injury and the lack of practice time is an issue, but he is missing a lot of open receivers and you just normally don't see Rodgers play like that.
I still think McCarthy is a good coach but I think he is losing his grip on the team. He's given Rodgers too much freedom and now that he is trying to reign him in Rodgers is resisting and it's causing friction. Doesn't help that their D still looks like a mess and they've let 3 pro bowl talents go off that D, 1 of which they stubbornly played out of position before letting him go. Doesn't speak well of your staff so not surprising to hear reports that Rodgers or players may not be happy with McCarthy.
I like him, but it's time for a new voice. Unfortunately feels like a bit of a missed opportunity with some of the available coaches last year. This year's crop seems less inspiring.
