Who cares about their stuff after. High 'n' Dry and Pyromania are masterpieces and two of the best albums released in the 80's. Throw in the massive commercial success of Hysteria and they are by far the most accomplished rock band on this list. It's not even close.
Outside of Def Leppard even though I didn't listen to them as much at the time I grew to appreciate The Cure. Radiohead is deserving as well IMO even if I consider them overrated. I like Rage Against the Machine but maybe too early for them. Some of these nominees are a joke for sure.
