The last 2 weeks really showed the 49ers lack of depth in the secondary, specifically the corners. Shawntae Spencer came back last night after going out in the last Seahawk tilt, and SF put 2 CBs on the IR this week.

I admit that I don't know the niners all that well. But I do see some similarities in the team they're getting together now and the early 90's Cowboys. Highly touted QB who has a tough first year, but things start coming together in year 2. Good running back, go to wide receiver, and a solid tight end. The offensive pieces look to be there, and another draft or two and they might get the defence in place too. IIRC Aikman was 1-15 his first year, and 7-9 the second and 11-5 the next year. Niners were what 3-13 or 4-12 last year and look like a 7-9 or 8-8 team this year. Who knows where they could be next year?
