It's not because of too much of Gardner. It's because of too much of partisan politics. Just simply way too much. It's no longer funny and it's not at all entertaining. Why have Seth Myers hosting to begin with? He's really bad at acting. He's got a talk show five days a week and has a tribune to voice his political opinions freely. SNL hosting appearance did not add any different angle to his public persona. There was no good reason for him to host, period. It was incredibly boring and unimaginative episode. Even Paul Simon couldn't save it.
