That being said, Frolik only has one more year at 3 mil in actual salary left. If Frolik can find a way to put up 30+ points this season, he should be easy to move to a non-cap team. If he puts up 40+ points, we might get that 2nd.

The problem is non-cap teams likely aren't contending any time soon and would rather not trade for a veteran on the downswing of his career with a high cap hit. Cap teams can't afford him. He's not a bad guy to be playing on your 4th line so he likely has more value to us, than trying to retain salary just to move him. I think if things are tight in the off-season, he may be a potential buy-out candidate if Tkachuk is demanding $7M+ or gets offer sheeted.
