Negotiations like this are all about pressure points.
What pressure is there on the Flames at this point?
How much pressure will be on the city should they be awarded the games....and still not have an adequate facility to host one of the two marquee events the games has to offer?
It's not a "fantasy world"......it's business. They aren't just going to change their idea of what they want just because the Olympics are coming, as that makes zero difference to them as a business.
This is pretty straight forward stuff.
