I don't think there's a lot of disagreement going on. Bennett is primarily accountable for his failure to develop. Not the coaches, not the general managers, and not the other players.
He has been tried an all lines, with almost all the players, and at almost every forward position.
I do think he has inherent skill that has not been able to be harnessed. I don't think he'll just randomly explode with offense any time soon. The organization has to help him take small steps in the right direction. Make him a solid third line player. Then make him a consistent 40 point guy. After that, maybe a true top 6 player. Etc.
