Soondubu, a type of Korean soup that is not at all popular or known in Calgary, also has the same type of idea. You get a super hot boiling bowl of soup and you crack an egg and put it in. It gets poached in the hot liquid, or you can mix it around.
Forgot to mention, with bibimbap you're only supposed to get the yolk.

Thanks for making my mouth water. One of my favorites. The Korean restaurant on 10th ave serves it with dolsot bap (just rice in a hot bowl). Hot, spicy soup with rice, then you add water or tea to the stone bowl to get the crispy bits of rice.....mmmmm
