I agree.
Fighting on its own is not an issue..
Having 6'5" 240lbs monsters on skates that only fight is what is no longer needed in the game.
I love seeing Bennett go out there play hard, hit a couple guys and piss them off to the point where they want to fight. If regulated properly it can be an important aspect of the game.
We don't need players that just sit on the bench wondering when they will be sent out just to fight but all players should be allowed to fight if they want.
The key for me is making sure players fight within their same weight class.. Lomberg probably shouldn't have been allowed to fight that ogre he fought last year and truthfully Hamonic probably shouldn't have fought last night.
It becomes an unsafe act when you have a massive reach disadvantage. If a guy is holding onto your collar and is feeding you knuckle sandwiches and he has a few inches reach on you there isn't a whole lot you can do about it.
The refs should breakup fights when it is a clear mismatch, not abolish fighting all together!
