In fairness, I believe this is a stipulated clause as part of their rent.
$1/year to the City.
$1M/year to Charity.
They gave the money to a Provincially run medical facility rather than a locally run charity. 
Alright. Its still a very awesome thing for them to do and I'll attempt to tone down my cynicism for a bit.
