apparently his contract is 6.1M this year (5.2M AAV).

5million was paid on the 1st of July as a signing bonus.
so 1.1million is his salary for the rest of the year.

He's forfeiting 1.26M (24% of his AAV).

So it's sort of like working for the year and paying the company money for the right to do so.
