Small number of teams is great, makes regular season so important. 1 game playoff for tiebreaks like division is really cool. No other sport can really do that given the physical effects.
On the other hand the 1 game wild card after a 162 game regular season is one of the stupidest things in the history of sports. It's one thing to do a play in out of necessity but to make an actual playoff "series" a 1 game play in just the worst.
That and the daytime playoff games. There's no excuse for that kind of stupidity, I don't care what the reasoning is.

I completely agree.
A one game playoff just gives such an advantage to the underdog it's not fair. Especially after slogging it out over 162 games.
In my perfect world:
Wildcard series is 3 games long. The team with the better record gets all three games played at home.
Both Division Series are 7 games long.
Everyone wins! Owners get to sell more tickets, MLB broadcasters get more viewers, we as fans get more agonizing playoff baseball!
