The Disney era of Star Wars is a mess when it comes to their target audience. I think they’re trying too hard to please everyone. The corny jokes are clearly for kids and the unnecessary fan service is clearly for the old school fans. The only fan service that’s worked well, IMO, is the Vader scene in Rogue One.
