I would expect that Ivan was probably shunned by his people and left with nothing and his wife left him.
His whole focus is on revenge against Rocky for ruining his life.
His son was probably raised in poverty, especially after the wall fell, and he was regaled by his father on how Rocky cheated him of his destiny.
I coulda been a contenda.
I really liked the first Creed movie, but felt that the opposing fighter was the weak spot in the movie.
This opponent looks like a killer.
