and why would the media run with it? the oilers didn't do anything wrong other than nicely saying no.

I could see going to the media if they did something inappropriate.

they wished the grandson well, they explained why the gentleman couldn't get an autograph and explained why the don't accept sending in personal items to be signed. I can't blame the op for being miffed, but does it really meet any threshold for public outrage?

personally, if I worked for the oilers I'd likely do the exact same thing.
except I'd have a stock of autographed 8x10 pictures of McDavid and at the end offer to send one. not sure why they don't do that as it seems stupid not to.
