This is my second e-mail to the Oilers...
HI XXXXXX.
Would it be possible for me to leave or send the photograph somewhere to be autographed by Connor McDavid? I don’t need to meet him..
I said meet Connor because in my mind's eye that's how its done. I'm in my 60's and haven't gotten an autograph since I was a kid. The way it was done when I was a kid was you went to the arena and hung around where the players would leave the building and ask a player for his autograph. It was always done in person if you knew where the player was going to be. That's it.. you gave the player a piece of paper, a book, or a picture, along with a pen and they signed it and gave it back to you. Sorry if my request wasn't clear enough. My goal is to get the autograph, not meeting Connor McDavid. I’m really trying to get his autograph... and a personalized one to my Grandson would be preferred.
Perhaps you can talk to your PR department? This is for a 10 year old boy with a physical deformity that he’s had all his life... not me.
This was there reply...
Good morning Mike,
Thank you for your reply. As per my previous email we are unfortunately unable to accommodate any requests for autographed items due to the large amount of requests we receive.
Your grandson is more than welcome to send in fan mail addressed to Connor McDavid, and it will be passed along to him. We cannot guarantee that all letters will be responded to, however each player attempts to respond in a timely manner.
Please note that we will not accept any personal items to be autographed by our players, alumni or coaches as these items are important to you and we want to prevent the misfortune of damaged or misplaced items
I mean, they aren't mean or anything... its just that they aren't willing to accept the picture and give it to McDavid to autograph. I guess it will, in the end, come down to me finding someone who knows someone in the Oiler organization that would be willing to try to do this for me.
