I was happy with the overall look of the team for a preseason bout. Especially after jet lag and the like. There were absolutely some defensive lapses and guys way out of position, but that's to be expected with a new coach and some new tweaks.

I'm really a fan of the offensive zone creativity. Lots of smart passes, not overdoing it, but zipping it around to get a shot. I appreciated Neal firing away when he had the chance, and Andersson really stood out as a guy who is calm on the offensive blueline and typically makes the smart play. Could definitely be a PP QB in the future.

As long as Peters and the coaches make sure the defensive system is understood by the regular season, this team will at the very least be fun to watch. Worst case, high scoring, stressful games. Best case, this team will dominate and challenge for the division.

I agree with this. There is a big difference so far in offensive zone puck movement and creativity.

Tre has given Peters the horses up front like we haven’t seen since the Keenan years, probably even better, and I hope he coaches to their strengths as we move in to the regular season.

Bold prediction - the Flames lead the league in 20 goal scorers this year
