I mean, they literally made the big team-up tentpole climax movie movie without doing most of the origin story films first. They did it backwards and hell, most of the Justice League dont even have solo films yet.

Thats like if Infinity War came out right after Iron Man 1. People would be looking around wondering WTF is going on.
Not exactly. JL was the 5th film of the DC Universe while Avengers was the 6th. So its only one film different. It would be like if the MCU put out Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Captain America then put out Avengers and then right after the Thor stand alone. The way they did it now, I think Aquaman showed well enough in Justice League that the film will get a slight boost at the box office and probably safely cross the $200 Million mark. And the box office for DC’s first 5 films have made about $1.6 Billion while the first phase of MCU (6 films including Avengers) has made $1.75 billion so pretty even.

Just cause they didn’t follow the MCU formula doesn’t mean it hasn’t worked. Taking out the MCU, I think DC has been one of the best in creating a shared cinematic universe. Transformers , Pirates of the Caribbean, Universal Monsters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bond, Star Trek , Alien, Predator, Harry Potter, LOTR, Fast and the Furious all these franchises are either behind or pretty close with DC at the moment in terms of fan support and box office return. Only Star Wars and MCU are clearly ahead, and even Star Wars lost a lot of money with Solo.
