Yup. On Twitter, you'll often see people mention "The Ratio", which is the ratio of comments on a tweet compared to the combined number of likes and retweets. The higher that ratio is, the more poorly-received the tweet usually is because when people agree with something, they'll give it a like and move on. When people strongly disagree with something, they'll reply.

Of course, we see the same thing on Calgarypuck. Posts with a lot of Thanks don't often generate a lot of discussion and the posts that generate a lot of discussion usually don't have many Thanks.


As of this post, the Flames tweet about the jerseys has 225 retweets and almost 1100 likes. It only has 147 comments.
