I would think his goal is to sell his point of view. He clearly feels strongly about his views and wants to share them. If people think he's coming off as an idiot I would think he's failing in his goal.
You seem to imply that as a conservative, he must only care about making money. Well, I'd say that's a pretty unfair stereotype of conservatives you're making.
Can't a conservative actually believe in what he's saying? or is it always just a ploy to get $$?
