You have to remember that while three first round picks seems rich, if you're adding an elite QB, you're probably going to be trading picks in the 20-32 area, not top 10 picks. And you're not mortgaging draft capital on a rookie, it's on a proven, elite QB. There are a lot of teams in the grey area (Bengals, Broncos, Dolphins, Bucs, Titans, Jags, Raiders, even the Chargers given Rivers age) that would love to have Wilson over their current QB, especially since salary wise there isn't much of a difference. And that doesn't factor teams like the Jets, Bills, Browns, Giants, Bears and Cardinals who, while they have a young QB (save the Giants), would easily mortgage those QBs for Wilson right now given the NFL is a win now business and those QBs could all end up being busts. Teams will trade two first rounders for an unknown thing at the draft (and certainly the rookie scale matters), but we're talking a sure thing here. If he was put on the market, I would imagine the bidding war gets things pretty high.
