And Bertuzzi played a power game much like Bennett does.
Development isn't always linear. Just because a player struggles in his early 20's does not mean he's doomed. That's reality. There's really endless examples of players who broke out in their mid 20's. Just because Bennett went high and entered the NHL early does not mean he can't be one of them

Mark Scheifele:
12-13: 4 games, 0 goals
13-14: 63 games, 13 goals
14-15: 82 games, 15 goals
15-16: 71 games, 29 goals
16-17: 79 games, 32 goals
17-18: 60 games, 23 goals
His line-mates when he's been producing at a 30 goal or better pace have been pretty darn good too (Wheeler).
People need to relax and take their time with Sam. He has a really high ceiling, but it might take him some time to reach it. In the interim, you have a player who puts it on the line for his teammates, chips in, and by all accounts is a good guy in the locker room. When he figures it out, I'd rather him be on the Flames than on a different team. It's not like his next contract is going to be a blockbuster or anything.
