Completely disagree. The Bruins goals were a result of getting Gillies to move laterally, which is a gamble for any goaltender. The Flames didn’t do that with the Bruins tandem all day. You could put Smith in net, and the result is likely the same. Lateral movement was the difference, not the guy in net. The Bruins scoring opportunities were odd man rushes where the goaltender had to make a big lateral move. Not many goaltenders are good at that, especially Mike Smith. Outcome was likely the same.
