I know in theory skinnier higher profile tires are better, but how much actual difference is it going to make.. worth the extra 4-600 it'll be for new rims (minus I guess whatever I can get for selling the OEM rims). I'd spend more on the 18" winter tires as well, probably $100 more per tire I guess.
You can go skinnier, and by result higher profile, without going to a smaller rim. What size are your current tires?
